How much does it cost per month to rent a cello?
Violin shops will fix their own rates, but in general you should be able to rent a cello for between $50 and $75 a month. You'll need to have insurance, or they won't rent one to you. Some shops will rent for a minimum number of months, or have a cap on how long you can rent before buying an instrument. (If you just need to rent one while you're somewhere on vacation, though, they may reduce their fee or the minimum weeks/months they'll rent for.) Ask to see if the shop will put a percentage of your rental fee toward the eventual purchase of an instrument. The rental fee covers the cello, the case, and the bow as well.
