Can you question the wisdom of the Bible BEFORE you believe it?

It seems like that would be exactly the right time. But many Christians here wonder how I have the "gall" to question the Bible if I don't believe it. So - you can only question it AFTER you believe it - when you NO LONGER question it? What?
