Can one be a good rock Singer with a deep voice?

I'm a b/baritone, and most rock singers are Tenors. I mean, Jim Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, etc. Some of the best of all time were Baritones. But how do you make it interesting, as opposed to just flat and boring sounding?
